Arts and Crafts
We have something for everyone! Are you looking for a creative outlet, at the center we have number of arts and crafts classes and groups for you to participate in.
Open Art Studio- Tuesday and Thursday 10-2 pm
Freedom to choose various art techniques including drawing and painting. This open studio gives artists the opportunity to work on any piece of artwork of their choosing. It is held in our studio on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-2
Pottery- Friday 2-4
Come learn how to create your masterpiece on a pottery wheel. Fee of $15 which includes instruction, clay, firing and glazes. Next session available: January 6- 27 Register Today!
Lapidary- Monday and Tuesday 4:30- 8
Lapidary is the art of forming cabochons (a polished gem) by cutting, grinding, and polishing stone and/or gemstones. The 1st class of the month is for new students only. Monday session is an open studio only. This is held in our Studio. Cost for members is $3 and non-member cost is $5.
Silversmithing- Thursday 5-8 pm
In silversmithing you will learn how to solder, saw, and file shapes, forming and joining, ring sizing, polishing and basic stone setting. You will work closely with the instructor to learn how to do all those neat things! New students on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, regular students 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, and 5th Thursday is open lab- no instruction. New student class is currently full; if you would like to join the waitlist for the next session, contact us! New student class fee is $15 (covers every time you come for the new student class) Regular class fee is $3.
Wire Wrapping- 1st Tuesday of the month at 4:30
Wire wrapping is a technique that involves bending wire around stone, sea glass, shells, amber, or other ornamental centerpieces to create a piece of jewelry. This class is held the first Tuesday of the month at 4:30 in the Multi-Purpose room.
