On Tuesday, Jan. 4, the Ogden City Council elected Council Member Ben Nadolski as the Council Chair and Council Member Luis Lopez as the Council Vice Chair for the 2022 calendar year.
Chair Nadolski is entering his sixth year of service on the City Council having previously served as Chair in 2019 and as Vice Chair in 2018.
“I want to help all of us become a strong Council,” Chair Nadolski said to the Council. “I want to make sure we all have the opportunity to express our will and our conscience with kindness and candor. I want to be open and transparent. I want to be the Council I know we can become.”
Vice Chair Lopez has been a member of the Ogden City Council since 2016 and is serving in Council leadership for the first time.
“My role in leadership means that I need to help our Council be the best it can be collectively and individually,” Vice Chair Lopez said. “I want to ensure that we maintain and strengthen the separation of powers in our form of government. I want to help our Council to play that very important role.”
After both votes took place, Council Members expressed their appreciation to Council Members Bart Blair and Marcia White for their service as Council Chair and Vice Chair.
Due to scheduling conflicts, reelected Council Member Angela Choberka was unable to attend Monday’s special city council meeting. As a result, she was sworn into office and began service in her second term in Tuesday night’s meeting.
