After considering national and local health and safety guidelines, the Ogden City Council will return to the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building to conduct Council business. Beginning June 1, work sessions and meetings will again be open to the public. Meetings will continue to be available electronically via the video conference application, Zoom.
“We’re looking forward to getting back to meeting face to face,” Council Chair Bart Blair said. “We wanted to make sure that we did so safely and in a way that accommodates those who still wish to join us electronically. We feel the June 1 timeline of returning to the Council Chambers with Zoom still available accomplishes that.”
Live streaming of work sessions, which began out of necessity due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will continue to be streamed publicly for continued transparency and accessibility. Those wishing to participate in public comments electronically can continue to do so. This will be reevaluated by the Council in July.
Although there is no requirement for those attending meetings in person to wear a face covering, it is recommended by the Center for Disease Control that those who have not yet been vaccinated do so to limit the spread of the virus.
