[ARCHIVED] Bicycle Master Plan adopted to make Ogden a bike-friendly city

Ogden Bicycle Master Plan

On February 2, 2016, the Ogden City Council adopted a Bicycle Master Plan to help the city develop and maintain a system of bicycle routes, trails and improvements. The goal of the plan is to make Ogden a safe, bicycle-friendly city for cyclists of all ages and abilities. The plan focuses on the creation of safe, convenient and connected bicycle routes and amenities to meet the needs of local cyclists.

The plan provides information on existing conditions, goals and strategies, recommendations on routes and infrastructure and cost estimates for a phased implementation. The development of this plan included more than a year’s worth of research, development and public outreach by the City and its consultant Fehr and Peers.

“The adoption of this Bicycle Master Plan is major progress for the city. We are grateful for the efforts of all who were involved in developing this plan, especially our residents,” City Council Chair Marcia White said. “This plan expands our transportation options, increases awareness of local cyclists and helps to accommodate future growth in the Ogden area.”
