On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, the Ogden City Council unanimously elected Council Member Ben Nadolski as the Council Chair and Council Member Angela Choberka as the Council Vice Chair for the 2019 calendar year.
Chair Nadolski is entering his fourth year of service on the City Council, and second year in Leadership having served as Vice Chair in 2018.
“In the three years I’ve been here, I’ve watched us as a Council develop together,” Nadolski said. “We’re developing collectively into a body that governs responsibly. I’m really proud of the progress that we’ve made. I have no intention to do anything but to continue to help all of us make progress.”
Vice Chair Choberka enters Council Leadership for the first time as she begins her second year on the Council.
“I just want to say how much I appreciate this honor,” Choberka said. “I really appreciate the service of Chair (Richard) Hyer over the past year and being a great mentor. I’ll continue that motion forward.”
After both votes took place, Council Members expressed their appreciation to Council Member Richard Hyer for his service as Council Chair in 2018.
Council Member Hyer has served in Council Leadership four separate times since he began his tenure on the Council in 2012.
“We need to honor the work that Rich has done for all of us this year,” Chair Nadolski said. “It’s been an absolute honor to get to know (him) better. We’ve grown a lot closer as friends and as servants.”
