The public is invited to a free Arbor Day celebration April 28 at 12:30 p.m. at Liberty Park located at 751 East 21st Street in Ogden.
At a special presentation, state representatives will present Ogden City dignitaries with the Tree City USA recognition. This year marks the 33rd year Ogden has received the prestigious award, making Ogden the third highest-awarded city in the state.
Following the presentation, a ceremonial tree planting will take place with the supervisory of Ogden City’s Urban Forester. Western Larch, Urban Pinnacle Bur Oak, Ivory Silk Tree Lilac, Dawn Redwood, and Lacebark Elm are a few of the species to be planted in the park to help restore and diversify the canopy, increase wildlife habitats, and provide the park with plenty of shade for generations to come.
